Removal of block paving for landscaping

Posted by Debbie Archer, on
Hi, I'd like to remove certain parts of my block paving, and replace with gravel or shallow planting. My question is, if I do this, will it adversely affect the remaining block paving? My main concern is that when it rains, will the sand underneath the remaining block paving end up getting wetter and loose it's structure? Thanks.

Hi there. All block paving is ringed with retaining blocks. These blocks are set in concrete to prevent any movement or spreading. If you wish to reduce your blocked area you will need to first decide how much smaller you wish to go and then install retaining blocks. Warning; If you don't retain your blocks they will spread really quickly.

What would you like to do now?
