Slow leak beneath kitchen floor tiles

Posted by Angie Williams, on
Had newly fitted kitchen and new floor tile approx 2 yrs ago. Noticed slight discolouration in cream coloured grout along one tile a few months ago, now this is spreading slowly to other parts of grouting. Occasionally you can feel damp on the tile. Water board cannot detect anything. Environmental Health suspects it may be slow leak from inlet pipe. Builder who reviewed had no idea what it could be. My worry is that it is coming from somewhere beneath floor and because it is concrete beneath tiles that could be a big problem. Very worried.

Hello ... it does sound like the problem could be coming a slow leak from the floor, have you any replacement tiles, you will need to take up part of the floor to investigate....
