I have bought new spindles to replace old ones in a Victorian wood staircase, its a 2 1/2 story house. The stairs have been renovated and the old spindles have been removed, and I would like to know if its better to ask a joiner or a carpenter to install the new ones for me.
f the spindles are undercoated and painted). They’ll need cutting to length, maybe some trimming to fit in the bottom holes on the steps, and pinning / glueing.
There are 3 flights of stairs: 13 steps ,5 Landing to 2nd floor, 6 to 3rd floor) (image). Its about 60 spindles in total (2 per step, a few along the floor on landings). In the meantime the stairs and banisters have been finished and painted.
