Help with lifting floor

Posted by michelle nash, on
Our oak floor is lifting, can it be put right?

Joseph Leadbeater

Hi Michelle, It really depends why it's lifting. Has it been subject to water damage or has it just expanded. If it's a relatively new floor ( laid within the last 6 months ) then it could be expansion that's causing it to lift. this would happen if there isn't enough gap left on the outer edges to allow for expansion. If it's an old floor, it's more likely to be water damage that's caused it. Your best bet would be to have a carpenter to have a look at it for you. He will give you the advise you need and a price to put it right. Good luck with it. Joseph.
