Hey Todd, That's a rather open question but here goes: OK so because of the heat I am guessing you want it to be a shaded roof. I am going to work on a fairly budget minded hypothesis. I would then suggest a softwood pergola styled timber structure. This would look good (can be painted any colour). Now that the structure is in place then I would suggest as the cheapest covering something like a bamboo screen stretched over and attached to the timber. There are of course hundreds of other options. The best would be steel and glass.
