Hello, I have a damp interior stone wall ( including closed up chimney ) and am having mineral salts bubbling through (effloresence?) How best to stop this?

This is a very technical problem and has to be assessed by a competent specialist in salt migration. I am assuming the situation is , Cheney blocked off and around the chimney breast or the wall of the chimney is contaminated with salts? The salt is called ammonium sulphate, this salt will be the cause of the damp, not the other way round. Tell me, is the salt only between the stones?

What would you like to do now?
