I have a bungalow with integral garage. It has cavity walls which were filled with Rockwool about 30 years ago. The recent gales drove torrential rain horizontally into the front of the house, soaking right through the brick / Rockwool / block wall into the garage, the extent being from the lintel over the garage door downwards about 1.5 metres. My living quarters are above the garage so share the same wall, but appear dry so far. I also have some steps running alongside the wall outside the garage, & the water has penetrated there too, as there is a slight gap between the two. A local builder suggests I get external wall cladding (after it dries out), but I don't want to cover my nice bricks. What treatment would you recommend, please, bearing in mind that it would be difficult to access the small gap between the steps (which are quite high), & house wall? Many thanks Gloria Jenkin
