Severe salt damage on internal and external rendered walls.

Spent a fortune 6-7 years ago on camp proofing and membranes on certain internal walls, but we are still suffering very severe salt problems! The brickwork around the base of our home is in a bad way too. Unfortunately, not in a great financial position and will need to do some of the work to remedy this situation ourselves. We have been ripped off in the past, even though we have chosen what we have thought to have been 'reputable companies, so have very little faith. Can anyone give us any advice on what we can do ourselves to alleviate these problems? Please! .
