My advise is use MSP by Bedec. EU meddling again. It was all about the nonsense of global warming and VOC content of oil paints, so the formulas were changed. MSP is the best paint for wood/metal. But you do need 2 coats

Hi Lisa. Basically it is to do with the oil content in the paint that determines the length of time that white stays white. EU laws mean that in the next few years that all paint will be water based, this is good and bad news. Water based paint does not go yellow, or if it does, it is over a long period of time, bad news is that companies have not developed a good white water based gloss, and all water based paints take at least two coats to cover. I recently decorated a clients window sills, and within two weeks, any areas which had things on the sill like a picture, had a yellow stain. Having spoken to Ostendorf who produce paint, they said it is to do with lack of light to those areas and the oil in the paint. So all in all, buy water based gloss/ satin, but be prepared for extra work/ time. I hope this helps. Rich Mckeown
