How to remove excess gloss paint from exterior wood frame

I used too much gloss paint when painting exterior wooden door frame, as it was drying i noticed drips and splodges, i tried removing these when the paint wasn't dry and now it's a complete mess, i would like to start again, how can i remove the paint and what chemicals am i best buying?

Hi Bill personally I would burn all the excess off recoat good sand down with a small palm sander undercoat then 2 topcoats. bob glen. Painter/Decorator.
