Emulsion on door frames & skirting boards

Posted by Janet Smith, on
We have just purchased a new build property and all the woodwork ie door frames and skirting are painted with emulsion , is this acceptable, also all the walls need re painting as there are brush strokes to be seen everywhere and clumps & texture change

Hi Janet, what is good for some is bad for others is it acceptable yes probably for cost they did it. As a painter decorator would I do it no, repaint walls with rollers, and re-coat frames and skirting's with a wood finish paint personally I would use a acrylic eggshell finish quick and easy and less smell but if you want a shine then go with a satinwood or gloss finish. that's it Bob Glen.
