Danish oil removal

Posted by Brenda Peers, on
My interior doors have been treated with Danish oil and I do not like the yellow colour , how can I remove the oil so that I can stain them .

Richard Ward

Hi Brenda. The only way is to sand it right back. Either by hand or with an electric sander. Just remember to sand in the direction of the grain NEVER across it. Then once you've sanded It all back wipe down With white spirit, let it dry and then you're ready To stain and varnish. Hope this helps! All the best. Richard.

Hi Brenda, the best way would be to use an electric sander to remove the oil, that's the easiest way, but if not then its elbo grease im afraid to rub it down by hand, then when its clean from dust your ready to apply what you want. Good luck, George.
