Painting over wallpaper

Posted by Geo Innes, on
I have existing wallpaper that I do not like. Rather than stripping this and re-painting, is there a reason I cannot simply paint over the wallpaper with emulsion paint (either with or without base coat)? My guess is that the wallpaper will continue to protect the plaster on the wall, so worth keeping?

as long as the paper is solid on the wall most papers will cover with a couple of coats of emulsion if paper bubbles dont panic to much as normaly as long as no bubbles when started should dry back
