Woodchip Removal - Asbestos?

I am currently looking to purchase a 1937 2 bedroom house which has woodchip on walls and ceilings. The surveyor who carried out the HomeBuyers Report has recommended that I use a specialist removal company to remove the wallcovering as it may contain asbestos. I would appreciate any advice on this please.
