We had a very wet winter and early spring in our area, and darker patches appeared on the chimney breast wall of a bedroom, although the wall was completely dry to the touch. We recently decided to decorate the room and rubbed down the wall thoroughly prior to painting. However following 2 coats of matt emulsion, darker patches have remained. Could you please give some advice on how we can sort this problem out.
