Posted by Sara Baker, on
I need a cat flap put in the back wall. The wall is 12.5" thick. Is this possible ad what sort of tradesman should I be looking for?

One with good insurance! You can't just punch a square hole in a outside wall, it will be load bearing and any hole like a window or door will need a lintel. You can make small round holes (4 inch diameter for vents etc) in wall but a square hole big enough for a cat flap could seriously damage your property. DON'T DO IT
