Bedroom separation wall

Posted by Rosie Craig, on
I need to knock down a wall that was put up to convert one large bedroom into two smaller bedrooms. It was just done as a DIY job by my dad using a frame and plasterboard. I'd be willing to do a lot of the work myself but would need someone with a bit of expertise and muscle to help with logistics and also make sure we don't do any damage to the original bedroom wall frame while taking it down. The wall also has two raised beds incorporated into it which was designed to free up space within each room. I think these would need to be knocked down prior to the wall as I think the temp. wall is built around them. What kind of profession do you think I'd need to hire to help me and do you think its more of a sledgehammer destruction job or a more complex task? Thanks, Rosie

Hi Rosie if your dad put this up with frame and plaster board, there's no great problem would imagine 1 day to strip it out by any reasonable painter/decorator and he could make good after the stripping so he is not going to make a lot of mess. Bob Glen Painter/Decorator.

I think your best bet would be to get a carpenter just in case there is any making good to be done
