Posted by Joyce M, on
I need someone to fit a key lock on a door that did not previously have a lock - do I need a carpenter or a locksmith?

Hello, use a carpenter, to fit a new lock, and a locksmith to fix a broken one because a locksmith will cost you more than a chippy. Regards

Either should be able to do a good job, but if the door is not a straight-forward timber door, reasonably thick, preferably 'flush, solid-cored', then a locksmith should have the knowledge to deal with awkward doors.
