Dear Glenn I would suggest to post job description on main website if you do not feel confident to do it your self. Once you've posted a job with us and had a local tradesman quote, you should have been sent an emailed link to his profile. From here, you can read previous customer recommendations and ratings. I hope this will help Best regards Rafal

Hi Glenn. There are a number of reasons why grout cracks, but the most common reason is that the tiles are fixed to a surface with some movement (e.g. floorboards that expand and contract naturally) and the grout used is not flexible enough. There are a large number of tile adhesive manufacturers who sell grouts that are flexible. In addition you can add a latex liquid to the grout when mixing to improve flexibility (e.g. BAL Grout with BL AdmixGT). Another common reason is where the grout heats up a lot or "shocks" due to a sudden increase in heat. For example if you install underfloor heating, tile on top and don't allow 2 weeks to cure grout and adhesive before gradually turning on heating. Tiles installed near heaters and radiators can also suffer this. Ultimately it may be worth advertising on this site for "grout repair work to tiles" and getting a professional tiler to assess the problems - if the tiles were fixed to an unstable structure, the whole installation may need to be re-done. Kind regards Andrew Coote

Glenn, I assume you mean flexible and yes you can. The best grout I find on the market is by "BAL" and will last years. Good thing is they also do a perfect colour match on the silicone too. You can use the adhesive as a grout too. However, if your grout is constantly cracking, this is usually a sign that you have an issue somewhere else that is causing movement in the wall. I would check the stability of the boards that your tiles are attached to and look to repair this first. There are many things that could be wrong so I suggest having a good look and prod then placing another question on "ask an expert" with what you found.
