Hi Katie, Everyone will have an opinion on this and I hate contradicting another trades person but I believe this is your order: Floor replace Sand floors Cabinets Paint Varnish / paint cabinets Varnish floor Reason: JOINER: The dust and mess ripping theold floor out and fitting the new floor will cause is quite disturbing. After the joiner has replaced your floor and it has been sanded to remove any discrepancies in the timber he can now use the final levels to fit your cabinets. You now have time efficieincies with the joiners labour and controlled dust and disturbance to skirts etc along with shelves & cabinets being fitted neatly to contour of the wall. PAINTER: Once all the wood work is complete and dust can be controlled the painter can put a fiirst coat on the floor to protect immediately from staining underfoot or spilage then sand back any other surfaces and caulk all gaps in skirts, cabinet or shelving edges to wall. He can also prepare all wood surfaces with wood filler in preparation for painting or varnish. From here he can prep and paint ceiling & walls, put final coats on cabinets and all other wood work i,e skirts & facings. This allows for any spillage or splashes to be sanded out the floor before puting on final coats as required. I hope this helps Kind regards Gary
