Hi Paul You could apply a water proof seanent to the external wall and and see if this solves the damp problem inside, I would say you would only benifit from aplying this sealent evan if it is not where the problem is coming from as you mentioned this wall catches all the bad weather so the sealent will help protect the bricks and mortar hope this helps. It is unlikely that the damp is from outside , it will be condensation due to that being a corner and cold .
