Wall Mounting a 42" Plasma TV

Posted by Sandy Murray, on
I have a breeze block wall between my kitchen & living room. On the kitchen side wall cupboards are fitted and appear to take quite a bit of weight when full of dishes etc. I would like to wall mount my 21Kg Plasma TV on the living room side of the wall and need to know if the wall will take this weight. A 4Kg steel tilting bracket would be fitted to take the weight of the TV. The TV would be fitted at eye level

Yes would be ok with tv on opposite side of wall I would use a "thunderbolt" type fixing ( available in most builders merchants) as these can be fitted without plugs, much simpler and stronger Hope this helps David

Hi Sandy There is no reason it wouldn't take the weight, just make sure the fixings ( screws ) are at least 3" (75 mm ) long and should be as thick as possible. Make sure you have the right drill, at least no 12 and plugs ans screws the same thickness. Your local hard wear store should have these. JC
