Who do I need?

Posted by Adam Lam, on
I have had a leak coming through above my bedroom fro ma public walkway which has resulted in massive damp stains spreading over half the ceiling. I have been assured that the point of entry where water was getting in has been fixed and now I need to have the ceiling repaired / fixed. It is a concrete ceiling with no artex or coving. I am not sure if I need to have a humidifier to draw any damp out first, or have the ceiling plastered or just sealed with a stain blocker and then painted.

Depending how much water came through the plaster will be soft as it will have been plastered with carrlite bonding You need a humidifer see how it feels . Alternative batten ceiling then board & skim hope this helps If ceiling drys ok can just re skim over G. Branch plastering

It might be best to insulate the ceiling by fixing insulated plasterboard to it then having it plastered. This will give you a nice smooth ceiling and you get better heat retention also. Post it as a job. Plasterer. Aprox; £30 square metre. JC
