Curtains and double glazing

Posted by Nicola Santamaria, on
How can you hang curtains when the windows have been replaced with double-glazing. There is no wood frame to drill into and the window goes right up to the ceiling so there is no space above to attach a curtain rail to.

Hi Nicola Try fixing in on the ceiling. If it's a conventional ceiling it should have timber beams running one way or another. Try tapping it gently with a hammer, change of tone will tell you where the beams are. Will take the weight of any curtain. Good luck JC

hi, if it is net curtains you can get expanding rods a bit like a shower rail that jam either side of the window when they are screwed out like the shower curtain. these are available from good curtain shops. if they are heave curtains then without looking it's difficult to say.
