Questions you should be asking yourself are: Are the lights fire rated? If they are no problem If not, you will need to buy a fire hood, it forms a gap so you can insulate around them. all you would need to do is pull a hole in the insulation and install round the light Fire hoods around £10.00 Each.

HI, Ideally, you should have had fire rated luminaires fitted that have a symbol marked on them showing that they are suitable to be covered with thermal insulation. The symbol is an "F" inside an upside down triangle with a line on top of the triangle. You might be able to buy fire hoods to go over your existing lights. Check the hoods are still adequate when covered by thermal insulation. Regards Andrew.
