Getting rid of wooden beams

We have 70's style beams all over the front room and in the ceiling and want to get rid of them but I'm not sure which tradesmen would get rid of these would it be a builder?

Hi David, If it's a 70s house then the beams are obviously just for show. You would need a Carpenter to remove them and a Plasterer to finish the ceiling. It may be a case of re-doing the whole ceiling. Shouldn't be too expensive. Hope this helps Joseph
