Moving Gas meter

Posted by Colin Bancroft, on
I need to have my gas meter moved so instead of it sticking out from the wall it needs to be against the wall. This is a very small move and basically from what i can see just needs turning through 90 degrees and moving very slightly to be against the wall.

You need to contact your gas supplier as they are the only people that can carry out this work, it is illegal for any one else to move the meter. Colin

Hi Colin, If its anything like the electric a electrician is unable to touch the meter equipment. I may be wrong but pretty sure its the same with gas. You may have to contact the Gas Board to move this for you. Hope this helps Russ

A gas safe engineer is only permitted to move pipework from the emergency control lever onwards. Any meter relocation has to be undertaken by your gas supplier. Hope this is of some help. Regards Paul Cocina Carpentry
