What kind of tradesman could do this type of work?

Posted by Richard Waldman, on
A recent gas safety inspection by British Gas revealed that the gas flue which travels along the length of my flats back bedroom is not supported enough. The flue has one support fixing it from the roof (its a builders band metal strap) but BG say it needs 3. The flue is completely boxed in (plywood i would guess) with 2 inspection hatches in it. I just dont know how additional supports can be added without taking the whole boxed unit out etc and whether this is a job for a joiner / builder / handyman or if it needs to be some sort of gas safe person. Any help would be appreciated.

British gas have done the survey and they should do the job. You have called them to inspect and they have the experts to sort this
