Ceiling too high

Posted by Olamide James, on
There is a box containing pipes that extends 75cm vertically from my ceiling, and horizontally covers wall to wall. The depth of the box is 35cm. I would like to install a fitted wardrobe with sliding doors but first need to extend the depth of the box by an additional 25 cm to accommodate enough room for the sliding doors. Or at least attach the top of doors to something from the ceiling( I cannot attach the doors to my actual ceiling because it is too high). The height of the doors is 2260cm and this is the same height from the bottom of the box to my floor. what is the best solution to solve this problem?

Hi Olimide there is no need to extend the boxing simply build a ladder frame above the location of the wardrobe doors and clad with MDF or plasterboard, ensure frame is level as the wardrobe track will be fixed to it. ED
