Ceiling fallen down.

Posted by Louise cowpe, on
Ceiling fallen down Into neighbours bathroom. ? My Floor joists look rotten. Their bathroom is below my bathroom. The ceiling that fell through was dry. Who do I need to come look at this and what could be the cause?

Hi Louise this isn't just your problem you should contact the freeholder or their agent and explain the situation to them so they can send someone out to inspect the damage. This is what you pay a service charge for to maintain the fabric of the building, do not undertake any repairs until you have contacted them. If they don't accept liability you should split the cost with your neighbour it is their ceiling after all. Ed

You will need a plasterer to look at ceiling , he might be able to look at joists and tell if they are rotten you might have Had a slow leak , which soaked into the joists G, branch plastering
