Vaulted Loft

Posted by Lisa Burchill, on
Need advice on installing insulation in a vaulted loft. Concerned about creating ' cold spots'

Joseph Leadbeater

Hi Lisa, It depends where your putting the insulation. If it's going in the floor space, then you shouldn't have any problems. Cover the whole area. Just be careful not to cover the eaves. Leave a gap. This will insure adequate ventilation. If your thinking of putting the insulation in the between the rafters of the roof. This should only be necessary if your planning to convert your loft to a loft room. Then you need to make sure the insulation is kept away from the felt. ie a gap between the insulation and the roof. Again this insures good ventilation in the roof space. Hope this helps. Joseph
