Drilling hole in external wall for cooker hood ventilation

Posted by Simon Fuller, on
Hi I am installing a cooker hood and associated ducting in my kitchen. However I need to get someone in to drill a 150mm hole in the external wall for the ventilation output as I don't have the necessary tools. My question is what type of trades person should I approach about this. thanks

You could take entire bricks out with a hammer drill and chisel bit instead of drilling a hole, then make good for fire purposes with expanding foam. If you're not confident doing them work then a builder or electrician would be used to doing these works on a regular basis.

Hi Simon, There isn't a specific tradesman that would do this work. It falls in "general building work" . A kitchen fitter should have the tools, however . Hope this helps. Joseph
