Help with make shift bridge

Posted by Jody Smith, on
We have a wooden plank we use as a make shift bridge to cross a stream however it's very slippyin the winter. Any ideas what I can do to minimise this?

Hello Jody, One thing you could try is to wrap some chicken wire around it and fastened with fence staples. You could also if practical give it a pressure wash to remove any moss or algae. Another possibility is to invest in a decking board that has non slip surface. Is the place where the plank is situated covered by over hanging branches of trees or shrubs? if practical these could be thinned to allow more light and air to the plank. Regards, Phil
