Smoke alarm

Posted by Jenny Ericsson, on
My smoke alarm beeps for no good reason. Electrical wires are connected to it so I don't think it's using a battery and the beeping is not regular. I need help to replace it. My ceilings are high. What kind of tradesman could do that?

Hi Jenny Most mains smoke alarms will also have a battery back up in case of mains failure. The beeping is telling you the battery requires changing. Normally I would say an electrician but If its just a battery anyone could do this for you although. Do you know a local handyman or have a friend who could look at this for you. If you post the job on here tradesman have to pay for your details so obviously will need to recoup this as part of the job costing. If your in Lancashire you can find me on Facebook and I would look at this for you Thanks Russ
