Door to common parts replacement

Posted by EDWINA JESSEL, on
I own a ground floor flat in a converted Victorian terrace which has a door to the common parts I"m looking to replace. It currently has a frame which goes up to the ceiling with a glass panel and below that, the door. I want to fill in the glass and get a normal door. I understand, for regulations that it has to be a fire door. Is there anyone who can do both these jobs together for me or do I have to find two different tradesment?

Hi Edwina a carpenter would be able to do both parts of the job for you, it may be worthwhile testing to see how much natural light you will lose when the glass panel is removed. Cover the glass with cardboard to gauge how dark the entrance area will become. Ed
