Board on desk blocking cam locks. Removing board cause instability?

Posted by Jeffrey Kang, on
I am disassembling a computer desk for a move. i.imgur/com/rehnAQz/jpg I think that removing the cam locks would remove the top of the desk. The problem is that there's a board on top of the drawers that is blocking 2 cam locks because the board was incorrectly installed upside down a long time ago. i.imgur/com/pBrLQT8/jpg The board should look like this (tower side): i.imgur/com/y2G0jlp/jpg If I can’t figure out how to continue, will smashing and removing the board on the right side cause instability in my desk?
