Hi Will There are a few possibilities for this lack of ventilation perhaps an air brick or two may solve it or blocked cavity where debris in older properties has fallen off inner section and is bridging the cavity above the damp proof course this can be raked out from the outside by removal of a couple of bricks. If non of the above suggest looking under floor internally for signs of rising damp. Hope this is of some help to you All the best Steve Beale
