Where to start hanging wall paper

I'm not a pro decorator but this is my method which works for DIY. Prepare walls to a sound surface (fill, sand and repair any imperfections, apply a "sizing" coat of paste if required in wallpaper instructions. Measure your wall/s horizontally, divide the total by the width of the rolls of wallpaper, this gives yo the number of "drops" per wall. Measure height of walls, Cut lengths of paper from roll, allowing enough extra for matching up any pattern etc. Measure over from top of starting wall by the width of the roll, put a pencil mark. Using a laser, level or plumb bob, mark a line vertically down wall, measure from this line to opposing wall, If substantially different, then it may be wise to mark and cut (scribe) your first roll edge to follow the profile of the opposing wall. Mix your paste as per instructions, apply to back of paper, leave to soak for the recommended time on wallpaper packaging. Offer paper up to wall from top and gently work your way down removing air bubbles with a brush or smoothing tool. Repeat for each drop (column) of paper, Cut off excess paper with a very sharp craft knife and rule if required.
