Hi Yvonne rising butt hinges are fitted in a similar way to normal butt hinges, the only difference being that you have plane a taper on the back of the top edge of the door on the hinge side to allow it to rise as it opens. Rising butt hinges are also handed , whichever side the door hinges on from the opening side tells you the hand for the hinges. Ed
