Quotation enquiry

Posted by Sarah Stedman, on
Received a quotation from a painter and decorator and it's got a lot of spelling mistakes and grammar mistakes. Should this be accepted?

Entirely your choice, however not being able to spell correctly does not mean they would do a bad job They could be dyslexic, i would check their ratings and see what other people think of their work A persons lack of grammatical correctness shouldnt be an indictment on their ability to do their job.....unless they are an english teacher....or possibly a librarian Hope this helps

Hello Sarah, Hard one. Use your instinct! They are not writers but decorators, so perhaps does not matter hugely if there are spelling mistakes. But please make sure the job is properly quoted for. I also advice not to pay anything in advance but the expenses. Once the team turns up and starts the works then you can break down a 'payment schedule' and pay accordingly. Say each room they complete or each week ending etc. Best Bee
