Why do we have to leave a deposit upfront and then rest on completion, alot of companies take money once its complete. also why is the person who came to give me a quote so cheap [not complaining]

Depending on the cost of the job, some companies ask for a deposit to cover the cost of materials and payment of balance on completion, as for price, you have to decide on the competence of your workman, i agree with Dave cheapest isnt always the right way to go, but ultimately its your choice

Hi Kashmir, Sometimes people ask for some money up front due to the cost off materials, sometimes you find people are just genuinely cheap, and sometimes people are just very expensive.
