Paying for leads

Posted by Sidney Webster, on
Can you explain how it works please? If I pay for the lead first, how long do i get before the other two trades people get a chance to pay for the same lead? or do we all get the opportunity to pay for the lead at the same time?

Hi Sidney, You all get the opportunity to pay for the lead at the same time. What happens is a homeowner posts a job, selecting specific categories - e.g. they tell us they need a builder to help with a conservatory build. We then send that job to all tradespeople with a matching trade and skills, but only those whose work area also matches the location of the job. (Your work area is something you set yourself from your 'Web profile' tab once logged in - so you're telling us where you're willing to travel for work.) After that, all tradespeople with that job in their lead lists are on an equal playing field in being able to buy the job lead and contact the homeowner to quote. This is up until a third tradespeople buys the lead. When that happens, the job is no longer available for other tradespeople to buy as we only sell a job lead a maximum of three times. I hope this makes sense. If you'd like to run through the service in more detail, our Customer care team would be happy to have a chat with you and answer any questions that you might have. You can contact them through ratedpeople(dot)com/contact-us. Thanks, Natalie Ask an expert team
