Quarry Tile Hallway

Posted by Carl Brooks, on
We are in the process of removing our quarry tiled hall way floor and I believe in this age of house 1950s that this is the DPM. The concrete sub floor appears to be dry but a little uneven. I was thinking of using a latex self levelling compound and then a liquid DPM as I cannot guarantee a DPM is fitted. After the liquid DPM I was thinking of using some 6mm insulated boards, electric heating and then tiles. Is this the correct approach? Advice is appreciated .

Hi Carl. It looks to me that you are approaching the job the right way. The only thing I could add to the job is make sure your base is well primed before you latex to avoid it from blowing and cracking.
