How to insulate eaves without leaving fibreglass exposed.

Posted by Tom McDermott, on
Hi. In both my kids' rooms there are small doors into the eaves of the roof. These areas are not insulated and cause the bedrooms to become quite cold. I've bought some fibreglass insulation that I will line the walls with. The problem I have is the kids like to go into these spaces to play. How can I then make the areas safe - ie how do I cover the fibreglass insulation so they are not being exposed to it. Thanks.

I would line the eaves with the fibreglass insulation then cover with boards either plywood or plaster board.

You could possibly use kingspan or a similar product , i guess it is to be used vertically on the back of short studded walls? The other alternative is to use the fibreglass you have and fix plasterboard over it.

What would you like to do now?
