Dealing with water under laminate flooring

Posted by Zoe Dix, on
We have had a tap leak over a two week period while on holiday under a raised laminate flooring and a laminate flooring directly on top of concrete. We have managed to remove the majority of the lower laminate to remove the water but we are unable to get under the raised laminate flooring as it appears to be sitting on a chipboard suspended on plastic spacers. We think we might need to remove the whole of the top layer of laminate and chipboard to remove the water and then put it back and this seems to be out of our skill range. Would we need to contact a builder about this or someone else that deals more with water removal? We have recently moved into our first house and never had to deal with issues like this before so any advice would be greatly appreciated.
