I have poor drainage due to clay soil, can I fix this by digging a deep hole with trenches and filling hole with rubble?

Feasibility depends on the size of land in question. If you have a standard size garden with access of approx 850mm then hire a digger and driver (circa £250 for the day). dig out a soakaway 2m deep by 1m sq. Fill with hardcore or better still, Soakaway crates, dig trenches an lay 100mm perforated underground drainage pies on shingle beds leading to the soakaway then back fill and cover with top soil/turf etc
