Garage drainage

Posted by Theresa Forde, on
Hi, We have a double garage with a small drain that just goes into the soil, I think that is called a soak away. The trouble is the drain is fully of soil so it cannot cope and when it rains hard we have water away 1/2 up the garage. It does drain eventually but can that drian be emptied or an additional one fitted?. If so would that be a drainage expert?

Hello Theresa, Yes it is called a soak away. The ground is so wet that the water table is to high and this is increasing the presser to your soak away. You can under extreme circumstances connect to the main drain system ( but you need to seek permission from local authority) Regards Michael
