An electrician 8yrs ago put lighting and sockets into our conservatory and feed the cable from the back of an existing socket leading outside is this safe?

Hi Lorraine This should be safe so long as the cable is the correct size (assume 2.5mm) and goes in to a fused connection unit (spur) from the existing socket. This would provide the necessary protection for the cables within the conservatory. The latest wiring regulations would also require the circuit to be protected by RCD.
