My cooker hood has stopped working after the bulb blew. Does the bulb act as an internal fuse as I have changed the fuse in the plug with no success.

Hi Mike, The lamp would not act as a fuse in the cooker hood. Some cooker hoods do have internal fuses though which would require some dismantling of the unit. Failing this, if you are comfortable doing so, you should try to to establish if the incoming supply is actually live when plugged in and if the socket itself is live. If you are unsure you should post the problem as job on Rated People or contact a local electrician who will be able diagnose the problem for you.
