Re storage heater

Posted by JOAN APPERLEY, on
I have four storage heaters one has stopped working It is only three years old but the trip switch keeps tripping.

Hi Joan, storage heaters are quite straight forward to repair and generally have a useful life of at least 10 years. Assuming the wiring to the affected heater is satisfactory the problem may be caused by a short circuit in one of the heating elements. If this is the case a replacement element can be fitted. If you advertise the job on this site a competent electrician will be able to diagnose and repair the fault. Alternatively you can contact the storage heater manufacturer.
